1. Time difference method ultrasonic open channel flowmeter
2. Installation method of external clamp ultrasonic flowmeter | V method, Z method, N method, W method
The installation methods of external clamp ultrasonic flowmeter mainly include V method, Z method, N method, and W method. The specific installation methods and applicable scenarios are as follows
1. Installation characteristics of V method: standard installation method, easy operation, high measurement accuracy. Installation requirements: Two sensors should be aligned horizontally, with the centerline aligned with the pipeline axis. The spacing between sensors needs to be adjusted according to the diameter of the pipeline to ensure stable transmission of ultrasonic signals. Applicable pipe diameter: DN15mm - DN400mm. Applicable scenario: The pipeline diameter is small and the medium conditions are good (such as no suspended solids and no scaling on the pipe wall). Conventional liquid flow measurement, such as water, oil, etc.
2. Z-method installation features: direct transmission of ultrasonic waves (single acoustic path), low signal attenuation, and strong anti-interference ability. Installation requirements: The sensor can be installed at an angle, and ultrasonic waves can directly pass through the pipeline without reflection. It is necessary to ensure that the sensor forms a certain angle with the pipeline axis to avoid signal obstruction. Applicable pipe diameter: 100mm -6000mm. Applicable scenarios: Materials with high acoustic impedance such as large-diameter pipelines (DN200mm or above) or cast iron pipes. When the medium contains suspended solids, scaling on the pipe wall, or thick lining, it is preferred to replace the V

3. Installation characteristics of the N method: By extending the ultrasonic transmission path (three acoustic paths) to improve accuracy, the signal is reflected twice and passes through the fluid three times. Installation requirements: The sensor must be accurately aligned to ensure that the ultrasonic waves are reflected twice inside the pipeline before reaching the receiving end. It is necessary to calculate the position of the reflection point to avoid signal scattering. Applicable pipe diameter: small pipes below DN50mm. Applicable scenarios: thin pipelines (such as DN15-DN50mm) with high requirements for measurement accuracy. When the medium flow rate is stable and the inner wall of the pipeline is smooth, the effect is better.
4. Installation characteristics of the W method: further extending the transmission path (four acoustic paths), ultrasonic reflection three times, passing through the fluid four times, and more precise control of the collapse height.
. Installation requirements: The sensor spacing should be larger to ensure that the ultrasonic wave completes three reflections. Strict calibration of reflection angle is required to avoid signal loss. Applicable pipe diameter: Small pipes below 50mm (especially DN15-DN32mm). Suitable for macro rental scenarios: ultra-fine pipelines or scenes that require extremely high measurement accuracy. Ideal conditions for a pure medium without bubbles or particles. Suggested priority order for installation method selection: DN15-200mm: prioritize V method; If the signal is weak or of poor quality, use the Z method instead. DN200mm or above or cast iron pipes: use Z-method directly. Below DN50mm: Choose N method or W method according to accuracy req
