2. How to select a flowmeter

1. Before selecting a flowmeter, the type and flow rate value of the measured medium (which can be an estimated value) should be determined, and then the specifications of the vortex flowmeter should be selected according to the flow range corresponding to the vortex flowmeter when measuring different media in the table.

2、 The flow rate of the measured medium in the pipeline must be within the flow range of the flowmeter, otherwise it cannot be used. It is best to be at 1/2 to 2/3 of the flow range of the flowmeter.

4、 Select the vortex signal output method based on the purpose of the vortex flowmeter: When the measured medium is a compressible fluid and the temperature and pressure changes of the medium on site are significant, it is recommended to use a vortex sensor with pulse signal remote transmission and a flow integrator with temperature and pressure compensation. Pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, or Pt100 need to be purchased separately by the user. The flow meter is installed indoors with good environmental conditions and does not require remote signal transmission. It only needs to read the flow value on site, and the installation location of the flow meter is convenient for operation and data reading. Jianpeiyan recommends that users choose battery powered on-site direct reading vortex street flow meters. However, if the flowmeter is installed outdoors and exposed to the atmosphere, a battery powered on-site direct reading vortex flowmeter is generally not selected. When the installation environment of the flowmeter is poor or the installation location is not convenient for on-site reading of flow values or centralized management, it is recommended to use sensors that output pulse signals and are equipped with flow integrators, or vortex street transmitters with 4-20mA standard current output. When on-site flow observation and remote signal transmission are required, it is recommended to use a vortex street transmitter with on-site direct reading and 4-20mA output. When on-site reading is not required and only standard signals are transmitted remotely, it is recommended to use a vortex street transmitter with a 4-20mA standard current output.
